NNPC: Objection
 

Following a site visit to the next door property (Seagulls), the Parish Council would like to comment as follows:

 Objection: (N3P = Newton and Noss Neighbourhood Plan at Referendum)

 Privacy/overbearing.  The impact on the immediate next door property was obvious and it was felt that both the access to and the platform itself, were an unacceptable intrusion on the neighbour.  Any attempt at screening the area would be even more overbearing  (DP3, N3P-4).

 

Noise and light pollution.  The potential use of this platform would not only affect the immediate neighbour but the also the 2 properties below it (DP3, N3P-4).

 Health and Safety.  The platform and access do not appear to have sufficient barriers to prevent potential falls from some considerable height (N3P-4).

NNPC: Objection
 

The Parish Council are surprised that the summerhouse and terrace above have not been included in this above application number and, having viewed both the staircase and the summerhouse from adjoining properties, would like to take the opportunity to comment on both constructions.

 

Objection: (N3P = Newton & Noss Neighbourhood Plan at Referendum)

 

TIMBER STAIRCASE  Health and Safety regarding the pitch of the steps, the instability of the handrail and the immediate obscured access onto a busy single track highway.  When not in use as a parking bay this bay is used as a passing place for the bus and delivery lorries as well as cars (DP1, DP7-d, N3P-4).  In their current form the stairs are not fit for purpose and should be redesigned.

 

SUMMERHOUSE & TERRACE

 

Following a site visit to neighbours at Hard Rock and Trewithian, the Parish Council would like to comment as follows:

 

Objection: (N3P = Newton and Noss Neighbourhood Plan at Referendum)

 

Privacy/overbearing.  The visual impact and loss of privacy for Hard Rock as both the summerhouse and platform are directly next to and overlook the house and patio.  The sidewall of the summerhouse creates the boundary with Trewithian which negates any overlooking but the proximity is undeniable (DP3, N3P-4).

 

Noise and light pollution.  The potential use of this area would detrimentally affect both properties – Hard Rock and Trewithian, more particularly Hard Rock. (DP3, N3P-4).
